2011, Balls Without Borders teamed up with the African Inland Mission in the Central African Republic. These Congolese refugee children are orphans of war and violence caused by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). They have no running water, electricity, or emergency education system in place; however they have a makeshift soccer field to keep the youth active during the construction process.
Balls Without Borders teamed up with the United Soccer Leagues’ (USL) back-to-back Championship team The Pali Blues. Together we attempted to break a Guiness World Record for our World Cup event. Donated balls went to the 6 MaAfrika Tikkun Orphanages on the outskirts of Johanesburg, South Africa; known as one of the worst inner cities in the world. Nelson Mandela is thier Chief Patron, and the orphanages serve 18,000 kids who are suffering the effects of HIV/AIDS in their community. They never had a soccer ball before this event!
Major Brian Dennis and his famous Dog of War Nubs talk about delivering the first shipment of Balls Without Borders to a remote Awazi Kurdish Refugee Camp in the No Mans Land Between Iraq-Jordan and Syria. It is there where Major Dennis found and nursed back to health Nubs, a stray dog with his ears cut off. Nubs followed Brian 70 miles across the winter desert, wounded. He has been living with Brian in San Diego, Ca ever since!
BWB Founder Viva Ann Guerrero and Coach Ivan Alzate, the first coach to donate used balls to the cause, talk about Balls Without Borders’ work during the Iraq reconstruction process on international television station Azteca America.
Background information on one of the regions Balls Without Borders operates in: Halabjah, Iraq. This gives you a good impression on the circumstances in which the recipients of our balls live and what a difference this gesture of friendship can bring.

Balls Without Borders is a registered 501(c)(3) Public Charity Non-Profit Organization helping children in need find a new perspective through sport. Photos and current activity reports will be updated periodically so please check back.
